Elburn, nestled in the countryside of the Fox Valley, is now home to 5,602 people, having seen exponential growth since the year 2000 when the population was 2,756. The Elburn boundary begins near the intersection of Route 38 and Route 47 and while cornfields make up a majority of the landscape in Elburn, many new home developments, the close proximity of Northern Illinois University, along with the Metra train station offering service to Chicago on the Union Pacific/West Line, are reasons contributing to why many young families are attracted to settling their family roots in this once-rural town.
