Our Debt to the Community
At Next Door, we recognize our civic responsibility to give back to our community and its members as a way of supporting the causes we believe in, saying “thank you” for the help that others may have shown us throughout our lives, and simply to be caretakers of one another – helping our brothers and sisters who call this part of our country, “home.”
Below are some of the causes we support on a regular basis. Please call us if you would like to learn more about any of them, or about our philanthropic work at Next Door.
Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans
Paul Schifferer, founder and president of Next Door, Inc., is a 20-year veteran of the Army National Guard and current president of a local chapter of the Combat Veteran’s Motorcycle Association. With his time, dedication and passion for veteran’s causes, he continually strives to find ways to help his fellow vets, especially those in need. Paul has done his due diligence, and he believes that one of the best veteran’s charities around is the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans (MSHV). With the help of the Fox Valley Chapter Business Networking International (BNI), Paul champions an annual fundraising event for the Shelter. The 2016 event (Called Bowling with BNI) which took place on Sunday, March 6, at the Bowling Green Sports Complex, in West Chicago, raised $5,100 for the Midwest Shelter. More information about the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans is available at www.HelpAVeteran.org.
Anderson Animal Shelter
Next Door Inc. is proud to introduce a new partnership with Anderson Animal Shelter. Their mission is this – to improve the lives of pets and people through service, education and advocacy. We at Next Door are so excited to be a part of this cause, and cannot wait to begin. “Community Partners are important to our success,” says Anderson Animal Shelter Director of Development Holly Alcala. “We are grateful for organizations like Next Door Garage and their employees for their passion!” For more information about Anderson Animal Shelter, please visit www.AndersonAnimalShelter.org.
Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley
Next Door, Inc., regularly partners with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley to help build homes for those who have been left homeless. The mission of Habitat for Humanity is to “build communities and hope” by giving those in need a decent place to live. We at Next Door subscribe to that philosophy and have made this mission a part of ours – and we look forward to continuing the tradition of donating our time, materials and our hearts to help build many more homes in the Fox Valley area. More information about Habitat for Humanity is available at www.HabitatIllinois.org.
